Braces Hygiene
When wearing braces, it is important to maintain good oral hygiene. We understand that this can be more difficult when wearing braces, but it is important to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and demineralization. These problems can cause more serious oral health problems and prolong your treatment.
When wearing braces, we recommend that you:
- Brush at least three times each day
- Use an interproximal brush to clean around brackets and wires
- Floss every day using a floss threader to help thread the floss behind the wires
- Rinse with water or a specialized rinse, if recommended
- Comply with the list of foods that should be avoided
During the course of treatment, we can provide additional information and tips to help you maintain good oral health while you are wearing braces. Caring for your teeth during treatment will leave you with a more attractive and healthier smile.
Improving Alignment With Invisalign® Services
Invisalign® is a popular choice for adults and patients interested in a more discreet orthodontic treatment for straightening the teeth. This system uses a series of custom plastic aligners to straighten your teeth. Each set of aligners is designed to make small changes. As you change the aligners about every two weeks, your teeth will be gradually and gently moved into the proper position.
This method can be used to correct:
- Crowded teeth
- Crooked teeth
- Gaps and spacing issues
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Open bite
- Crossbite
There are many benefits to choosing Queens Invisalign® services:
- They are easy to clean
- There are no wires or brackets
- They are comfortable
- They are safe
- There is no need to change the way you eat

The amount of time it takes to see results from the use of Invisalign® can vary depending on the severity and complexity of each patient’s case. The treatment process could take anywhere from 6 to 18 months based on the patient’s oral hygiene, tooth alignment, gaps in teeth, or potentially crowded teeth. The professionals at Bayside Laser Dental PC can help you with the appropriate, customized treatment plan.
We provide orthodontics in Queens that is customized for each patient. At your initial consultation, our dentist will examine your teeth to determine if you are a candidate for our Queens Invisalign® treatment. The aligners are almost completely undetectable, comfortable, and easily removed for eating, brushing, and flossing.
